Religion ALMOST Ruined Me

I do not subscribe to religion
I have a sense of morality, and
A working mental capacity
To choose my spirituality

Life has taught me plenty
Experience has wisened me

I do not need a document
To determine my identity
I do not need a preacher
To define my purpose
Or a congregation
To weigh in on my worth

I found freedom inside me
When I stopped following
Controlled robotic crowds
With stone cold hearts
And malicious mouths
